Prioritize!!!

"Better three hours too soon, than one minute too late" ~William Shakespeare

What I learned this week about time management; the number one thing you must do is write a to-do list.  Not just any old list, but one that recognises tasks that must be completed and tasks that are not so important.  Tasks with the highest priorities must be completed first, the least important can wait.  If the number one priority makes you shudder and you have no idea how you will ever finish it; it is best to break it in to smaller more manageable parts.  You are less likely to put it aside and say it can be done later.

It all sounds good to me, but I have a challenge just sitting down and writing up a to-do list.

Task for Week 1:

Every night before bed right up a to-do list for the following day, make sure to indicate what tasks are most important and make sure they are completed in the time you have allotted for them, before working on smaller tasks.

All Things Frugal have a great section on time management

Some other links to online to-do lists

Todoist - ability to prioritze, gmail intergration and able to use mobile to update (free)
Tadalist - very basic just list tasks (free)
Remember the Milk - break tasks down into categories and prioritise within each category, contacts list, reminders (free, but can upgrade to Pro)

There are many more online sites specializing in to-do lists but these were the three that stood out to me.
